WelcomeThis website has been created to investigate the politics and sociology of education technology in the form of a case study for students in grades six through eight. This website has been designed to provide information for three distinct audiences: Students, Parents and Teachers.
Students are encouraged to proceed to the Investigations page, where they will explore some challenging situations regarding cyber safety, cyber bullying and internet anonymity. The Parents Guide is designed to help answer some frequently asked questions around Internet safety. The Teacher’s Guide discusses the purpose and objectives of this website in more detail as well as provides some ideas and opportunities to extend this lesson according to time, interest and grade level As students, teachers and parents work their way through the site, they will reflexively explore the impact that the evolution of technology has had on adolescent culture. They will consider how the potential for online exploitation of teenagers can affect their social, moral and psychological development. We invite you to explore the Anonymity Factor. |
